Halls That House ECU's LLCs
Living Learning Communities will be housed in 4 of our residence halls for the 2025-2026 academic year. The majority of the LLC programs will be housed in our most recently constructed residence hall in the College Hill neighborhood, Ballard Hall. Opened in the Fall of 2015, Ballard Hall’s various characteristics support the success of our LLCs and make it a unique and special place to live. The other three buildings housing LLCs in the upcoming year are College Hill Suites in the College Hill neighborhood, and in the West End neighborhood, both Garrett Hall and Greene Hall.
Ballard East & West
Steve and Nancy Ballard Hall is our newest residence hall, having opened in August 2015 with three different room styles, great community living room space throughout the building, classrooms on the first level, the College Hill Neighborhood Service Office, laptop hook-in areas, and basketball and sand volleyball courts.

College Hills Suite
College Hill Suites is located in the College Hill neighborhood directly adjacent to Todd Dining Hall, and it is the only residence hall reserved exclusively for upperclassmen students. CHS offers returning and transfer students the ability to live in suite-style housing, and each suite includes one bathroom per two beds, as well as a kitchenette that includes a full-size refrigerator and microwave. There is a laundry room and kitchen area with a stove on each floor, as well as study areas available for residents on the main floor.

Greene
Greene Hall is one of three high-rise buildings in the West End neighborhood and was recently renovated in 2019 to include newly remodeled bathrooms and resident room finishes. Greene Hall is located steps away from the Honors College in the Mamie Jenkins Building, allowing these students easy access to the Honors College advisors and staff. In addition, the West End Dining Hall, Eakin Student Recreation Center, and Main Campus Student Center are also located nearby.

Garrett
Garrett Hall is conveniently located next door to the Jenkins Fine Arts Center — where many of the Art and Design classes are held — and is within a short walk to Main Campus. West End Dining Hall, the Eakin Student Recreation Center, the Main Campus Student Center, and Joyner Library are also located nearby.
